Attention all mac and cheese enthusiasts and aspiring culinary champs! Join us for the thrilling highlight of Mactoberfest – the Ultimate Mac & Cheese Showdown. This fierce competition will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, where culinary artists will go head-to-head to create the most mouthwatering and innovative mac and cheese dishes. This year, we’re taking your mac and cheese adventure to new heights by introducing a carefully curated selection of adult beverages, perfectly paired to complement the cheesy goodness.
Come on out Saturday, 9 September 1:00pm – 3:00pm. On “Restaurant Row” East Hopkins Ave between Monarch and Mill St. This is a free event and open to the public!
How It Works:
- Registration: Contestants must register in advance to secure their spot in the competition. Limited slots are available, so sign up early! Please email wesy.armour-cook@aspen.gov to secure your spot.
- Ingredients Unleashed: The City of Aspen Special Events department is offering a stipend for the competitors to use for purchasing the finest high-quality ingredients to craft their masterpiece.
- Cook-Off: Armed with culinary skills and creativity, the competitors will have two hours to showcase their dish that wows our esteemed VIP judge, the one and only, ‘Cheese Lady’ herself Laura Werlin.
- Winner Announcement: But that’s not all! At Mactoberfest, we believe in the voice of the people. As our VIP judge deliberates, you – the enthusiastic crowd – will have the opportunity to cast your vote. Winners will be announced at the end of the competition. Categories to win are the Judges category and People’s choice.
