The Golden Leaf is one of the most beautiful foot races in the Rockies. This 13.1 mile half marathon traverses from Snowmass Village to the heart of Aspen on mountain trails and roads at the height of Colorado’s breathtaking fall colors.

Boasting spectacular views the Aspen Backcountry Marathon & Heavy Half Marathon is run almost exclusively on high country dirt trails. Challenging ascents, exciting descents and wide diversity in terrain will challenge all athletes.

These events help enhance the vitality of the town of Aspen, and enrich the quality of life for both locals and visitors. In addition, the Special Event’s Department helps facilitate the permitting process for 3rd parties to bring their events to Aspen, CO.
