It’s Always Event Season in Aspen.
Experience all Aspen has to offer!
Aspen is a small town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains with a year-round event schedule that brings world-class events right to our doorstep.
Events like the Food & Wine Classic, X Games, the Audi FIS Ski World Cup, and the Aspen Ideas Fest bring large crowds from all over the world, while more intimate events like the Ducky Derby, Owl Creek Chase, the Audi Power of Four, the Grand Traverse, and more fill our weekends throughout the year.
There are over 50 events taking place each year in our parks, streets, and on our mountains, with new ones being added each season. The City of Aspen Special Events team hosts only a handful:
The Aspen New Year’s Eve Celebration
The Alpine Art Cart Rally
America’s Uphill (co-hosted)
Aspen’s Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration
Community Picnic
Mactoberfest
and the Golden Leaf Half-Marathon (co-sponsored)
All are community-focused events that are almost always free and open to the public.
With so many events week after week, it’s hard to keep track and plan accordingly. Below are a few resources you can use to find other events and happenings here in the Roaring Fork Valley.
ASPEN CHAMBER RESORT ASSOCIATION
ACRA - Aspen Chamber Resort Association has been Aspen’s long time partner in managing events, marketing and the needs of small business community. They have one of the most up to date and robust event calendars, covering events from intimate to extravagant!
Aspen Skiing Company
In 1947 the World’s longest ski lift was opened on Aspen Mountain, Lift 1, and let’s just say it’s all been downhill from there! Since then, Aspen Snowmass has grown to be a World-Class ski resort operator with four ski area mountains, the best in class ski instructors, fine dining restaurants and hotels and hosts of some truly inspiring international events.
Aspen Snowmass plays host to both the XGames at Buttermilk Mountain and the Audi FIS Ski World Cup races on Aspen Mountain, just to name a few. They have a robust line up of family friendly events throughout the valley in both the Winter and Summer.
Concerts & Music Events
Aspen is known for it’s great concerts and music events. We don’t want to pick and favorites, but if you are looking for live music options here is a short list of great venues and music experiences to choose from.
Local Happenings
One of the best ways to find out what’s happening in our little hamlet is to check with your concierge or travel planners and read the local papers! (They are free all over town) and you can see the digital papers from anywhere in the world.
